(Covid-19 Community Volunteer, Module Two)

This course is Module Two in the course Covid-19 Community Volunteer.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many people will have volunteered with the NHS, local authority or community group to help out.  Many of these volunteers will have be given the role to support someone living with dementia in the community.

In this module you will be exploring the experiences of people living with dementia and how you can make the experience of giving a lift, for example to an appointment as easy and comfortable as possible.  This could be in your own car or in a taxi.  You will be thinking about the journey experience from start to finish, the challenges and what you can do in your role as a community volunteer.  You will also be given a checklist which you can complete with the person living with dementia to complete to make sure all areas are covered.

This module consists of a mixture of written learning materials, exercises, a video, files to download, a handy checklist and a discussion forum to learn from others taking the course.

This course has been been co-produced with people living with dementia and their allies.

To access this course, you will need to self enrol on the course.  This is really easy, just follow the instructions and provide your name, email address and a password.
