Keeping in Touch

(Covid-19 Community Volunteer, Module Four)

This is this the final module, Module Four, in the course Covid-19 Community Volunteer.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many people will have volunteered with the NHS, local authority or community group to help out.  Many of these volunteers will have be given the role to support someone living with dementia in the community.

In this module you will be revising what you have learnt throughout the course and then examine some of the misconceptions of people living with dementia.  You will be exploring some of the most commonest anxieties and worries that a community volunteer experiences in their role, looking at solutions to these.  You will also be identifying ways to build rapport and a mutual relationship with the person living with dementia.  You will also be given a checklist which you can complete with the person living with dementia to make sure all areas are covered.

This module consists of a mixture of written learning materials, exercises, a video, files to download, a handy checklist and a discussion forum to learn from others taking the course.

This course has been co-produced by people living with dementia and their allies.

To access this course, you will need to self enrol on the course.  This is really easy, just follow the instructions and provide your name, email address and a password.
