The first every conference where all speakers are people with lived experience of dementia/cognitive impairment.

100/6000 Conference - 14th - 15th September 2021
The first conference in Scotland where all speakers will be people with lived experience of dementia / cognitive impairment.
The first conference in Scotland totally designed by and for people with dementia/cognitive impairment.
A hybrid conference thereby ensuring full access to all of those with dementia/cognitive impairment who wish to attend, both in real life and virtually.
A conference where people with dementia/cognitive impairment are inviting workers to our tables as observers.
Most importantly a working conference, a place of debate, our own ideas factory for the future direction of living with dementia with conference position papers being the outcome of the conference.
Three topics have been identified to be the focus of the conference. Some topics complement work commissioned by Life Changes Trust with other agencies, especially around human rights.
- Human Rights in Dementia Post Pandemic
- Peer Support - what is it?
- A National Care Service in Dementia - what should it look like?
Each topic will have a 10 minute presentation at the conference venue, then the topics will be discussed in Groups. People in the venue will pick their group, whereas online attendees will be put into groups, having pre-selected interests when signing up. The online groups will be facilitated.
All sessions will be recorded to ensure accuracy during the writing phase of the position papers. One topic will be discussed at each breakout section.
During breaks delegates will be able to go to the networking area on Zoom.
